Somdula is the result of a life of searching. A search for truth, for that which would give my life a deeper meaning, guided by my heart's unquenching thirst to make sense of the absolute certainty within me, that there is more to life and to us than the constrictive walls of beliefs, values, systems, history, structures and existential "truths" our present paradigms "allow" us to perceive. On the path of searching my heart has been my guide and the answers I find are those that resonate with my heart. I speak from a western occidental perspective, the one I was raised in, which seems quite more limiting than the oriental and indigenous views.

The search has not been a focused one where I know what I am seeking. Seeking has been the path, and it has taken me on unexpected roads which led me to question my every question. Picasso's quote contains the wisdom of why art/creativity/free-flowing creation is one of the most effective paths in connecting us to the real nature of our "beingness", opening up our senses to such a level that we access the multi-sensorial living universe that we are, resulting in creation beyond the ego/mental level.
Somdula is a frequency that connects us with what I have found; its substance is from that which is sacred within me, heartfelt, and in harmony with the cosmic symphony.
What is created, shared, and offered here emerges from my commitment to the sacred. The search, the practices, the services, and the information are all a result of this devotion.
My experience is of a great "unlearning" process, one that demands surrender and trust, expanding the heart (literally expanding its force/magnetic field) in such a way that we are able to go beyond the pre-established limiting beliefs passed on to us of our every possibility - what we "can" see, feel, believe, think, act, choose and conclude. No longer restricted by these we are able to tap into the field of "faith", better said - heart guidance - to the SACRED WITHIN, and fully trust our inner compass in the vastness of multi-sensorial beingness.
My work is rooted in the intent to ignite and nurture sacredness on earth, to reawaken this subtle yet essential nature of our true beingness, which I believe has been almost entirely lost. Earth is ALIVE yet we live our lives in a "dead world", a world defined by gates, fences, and frontiers... To live a life in relationship with spirit is to live in a constant dance, in harmony with the forces of nature, with the universal life force. By igniting this subtle frequency in our daily lives we are able to access our divinity as humans, no longer a deity living outside ourselves.
It has been my honor and blessing to study the magic of sacred sound, the art of Sound Healing with Himalayan ancient bowls & bells. It is said that Om is God's magic word... and sound is ...well let's leave it at this for now, but I will say I feel the magic of sacred sound can change everything... anything... knows not barriers... or limits... and its power has been forgotten. For the past 4 years, I have also been eagerly studying ancient astrology with an initial focus on Hellenistic and now on Jyotish (also known as Vedic astrology). The codes written in the stars in the astrological and astronomical context (in ancient days they were the same) entice every ounce of curiosity in me and whisper of much yet to be revealed; I devote myself as well to deep and ongoing research in this area.
In the ocean of essence, we are divine beings connected in our web of consciousness. All is one and when more of us connect to our true nature and are able to sustain this bond, then, I believe, we can create "magic" on earth. Ripples of joy and love so blissful can radiate throughout eternity from us... our hearts are electromagnetic power motors connected to all that is... There is so much more to us than we see, feel, are taught, and "know" possible...

The face on the shaft of a Ghanta bell. It is the face of the wisdom Goddess. The Ghanta Bell is a symbol of wisdom, the female principle. It is always held in the left hand.
Manipuri Bowl - Tibetan. Manipuris are called the heart bowls. The larger object pictured is a Dorje (or Vajra) the indestructible thunderbolt. It symbolizes the unbreakable absolute, the state of enlightenment. It represents the masculine principle and is always held in the right hand.

Jambati Bowl - Tibetan. Created with the main purpose of altering consciousness. Jambatis are the largest and heaviest of the singing bowls. They usually have visible hammer markings from the forging process. They used to be made in monasteries in the eastern Tibetan Border (Hor is one of them).
